On Friday, the Coffee Middle Lady Raiders beat Siegel 7-3, the Red Raiders fell at Lincoln County, 5-1 and the Westwood Lady Rockets split a doubleheader at Cannon County.

CCMS Lady Raiders: 7, Siegel Cavaliers: 3

The Lady Raiders were looking to continue their winning streak in a home contest against Siegel.

Through the first three innings, neither team could break through, then the Cavaliers broke the ice in the top of the fourth inning to lead 1-0.

However, Coffee County erupted for five runs in the bottom of the fourth, including a Kenzie Shelton triple that drove in two runs to give the Lady Raiders the lead.

Siegel would score twice in the top of the fifth inning to make the score 5-3, but the Lady Raiders scored twice more over the next two innings and hold on to win, 7-3.

Briley Jernigan had two hits and two RBIs, Kenzie Shelton had one hit and two RBIs, Allie Raines and Phoenix Jones each had one hit and one RBI and Bailey Hale, Genna Sadler and Paige Chilton each had one hit for Coffee County.

Jernigan would get the win in the circle, pitching in all seven innings, allowing three runs on seven hits, striking out six batters and walking one on 99 pitches.

The Coffee Middle Lady Raiders are now 7-2 on the season, have won four games in a row and will look to keep momentum going against Stewarts Creek on Tuesday, Apr. 9 at 5:00 pm.

CCMS Red Raiders: 1, Lincoln County Falcons: 5

After winning the first game of the two game series, the Coffee Middle Red Raiders traveled to Lincoln County for the second game against the Falcons.

The Falcons immediately took charge, scoring three runs in the bottom of the first inning to take a 3-0 lead.

The game would be scoreless for the next three innings before the Red Raiders scored in the top of the fifth with Mason Floyd scoring on an Ethan Arnold ground out to third base, making the score 3-1.

However, Lincoln County scored two more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning and held on for the win, 5-1.

Augie Lynch and Tanner Daugherty would be the only Red Raiders to register a hit while Ethan Arnold took the loss on the mound, pitching 4.2 innings, allowing five runs on five hits, striking out three batters and walking two on 82 pitches. Daugherty pitched 1.1 innings in relief, striking out one batter and walking one on 21 pitches.

The Red Raiders are 6-6 on the season and will take on Coffman at home in their next game on Thursday, Apr. 11 at 4:30 pm.

Westwood Lady Rockets: 12, Cannon County Lionettes: 7

After playing a doubleheader against Liberty on Thursday, the Lady Rockets played another double header on Friday, this time at Cannon County.

In the first game, the first two innings would be scoreless, then the Lionettes scored four runs in the bottom of the third inning to lead 4-0.

The Lady Rockets would get on the board in the top of the fifth inning as a Kylie Evans double sent Kinsleigh Parson in for a score and a Shaylee Meadows fly ball caused the Lionette defense to commit an error, allowing two runs for Westwood to sneak through and make the score 4-3.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, the Lady Rockets erupted for four runs, including a Parson single that sent McClayne Finch home for the tying run and an Annie Carden grounder that brought home Allison Monahan for a score to give Westwood the lead as the Rockets led 7-4 after six innings of play.

Westwood poured on five more runs in the top of the seventh inning and the Lionettes answered with three runs in the bottom of the seventh, but the Lady Rockets would win, 12-7.

Shaylee Meadows had one hit and three RBIs, Kinsleigh Parson had three hits and two RBIs, Annie Carden had two hits two RBIs, Kylie Evans had three hits and one RBI, Maddi Scott had one hit and one RBI and Addi Teal, Mia Ahlijah and Allison Monahan each had one hit for Westwood.

Maddi Scott got the win in the circle, pitching in all seven innings, allowing seven runs on nine hits, striking out 13 batters and walking just one on 126 pitches.

Westwood Lady Rockets: 3, Cannon County Lionettes: 5

The second game of the afternoon and the fourth game in two days wouldn’t go in Westwood’s favor.

Each team would score once in the first inning, then the Lionettes scored twice in the bottom of the second inning to take a 3-1 lead.

The Lady Rockets would tie the score at 3-3 in the top of the third inning, but the Lionettes answered back with another two runs of their own and would go on to win the second game, 5-3.

Annie Carden would have two RBIs on offense and pitched 2.2 innings in the circle, allowing five runs on three hits, striking out three batters and walking two on 51 pitches.

The Westwood Lady Rockets are now 4-3-1 on the year and will play at Cascade on Monday, Apr. 8 at 5:30 pm.
