On Thursday night, the Coffee Middle Lady Raiders beat the Lady Lions for their 16th straight win while the Red Raiders struggled against the Lions.
The Lady Raiders again dominated on the defensive side of the basketball in their win over Cannon County.

“It’s been a tough week for myself and a tough week for these girls,” said Coach David Vinson. “But these girls again rose to the occasion against a team that had only one loss at this point and it feels good to stay undefeated.”
Scoring for the Lady Raiders were Hayleigh Harris with 15 points, Addalyn Clark with 12 points, Jenslee Nogodula and Harper Crosslin with eight points each, Isabelle Saner with four points, Kensley Pruitt with three points and Avery Pruitt with two points.

The Red Raiders would adjust at halftime, outscoring the Lions 11-5 in the third quarter, but the Lions finished it off in the fourth to win, 46-21.
“We knew it was going to be a tough one going in,” said coach Jonathan Oliver. “At some points it felt like we came out scared and we made some bad decisions and turned the ball over a few times. The next game against Stewarts Creek is very winnable and we need to protect the ball better than we did tonight and follow our game plan.”
Scoring for the Red Raiders were Jaxon Pruitt with 11 points, Jerrad Morgan and Jackson Oliver with four points each and Warren Simmons with two points.
The Red Raiders fall to 6-10 on the season.
Next up for Coffee Middle will be a road game at Stewarts Creek on Monday, Dec. 18 before going on Christmas Break.
