Highway 41 Toy Convoy will be Nov. 5

Everything from hot rods and muscle cars to trucks, Jeeps, motorcycles and everything in-between are invited to participate in the 27th Annual Highway 41 Toy Convoy scheduled for 9 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 5.
Vehicles will lineup beginning at 9 a.m. at Raider Academy, located at 865 McMinnville Highway, Manchester with the convey scheduled to hit the road at noon.
“It’s that time a year again, when hundreds of good hearted people come together to celebrate the longest running event of its type in Tennessee, the Highway 41 Toy Convoy and Show,” event organizer
Katy Ishee said. “This year we are celebrating 27 years of bringing joy and happiness to the children of Middle Tennessee.”
The event will also include an appearance by Santa and Mrs. Claus, who will be spending the day with local children.
All participants are asked to fly a tightly secured American flag in support of our freedoms.
“We have one participant coming 589 miles one way from Lake Erie, Ohio in his 1929 Ford Pickup Truck,” Ishee said. “Besides the trophies in the show, we also have the young at heart award, long distance and most patriotic vehicles awards.”
After leaving the Raider Academy, the convoy will travel up Highway 55 to Highway 41, turning north to Beech Grove, on to Highway 64 to Wartrace.
Virgil T & Friends will perform in the afternoon and door prizes will be given away. A car bike, jeep and truck show will be held after the arrival in Wartrace. All show vehicles must register at the school and ride in the convoy.
Entry is $10 per vehicle and include 10 tickets towards the door prize drawings for the convoy. Car show entries are $20 and include convoy entry.
In addition to the North Pole’s most important citizens, other special guests will include Steve Davis of Murfreesboro as Batman with his Batmobile and Mike Morgan with his MacVader truck #88.
Participants are asked to bring a new unwrapped toy to help brighten Christmas for the area kids. The toys will be distributed through The Steve Grave and Gene Taylor Christmas Foundation and Coffee County Rescue Squad, Manchester Police Department and Wartrace Fire Department.
