Big seventh inning lifts Red Raiders over Pioneers

On Wednesday night, the CCCHS Red Raiders finished the season sweep of Warren County after a late comeback fueled them to a 6-5 win.
Warren County would get on the board first with a solo home run in the top of the first inning to give them a 1-0 lead, then the Pioneers scored two more times in the top of the third to lead 3-0.
The Red Raiders would tie the score with three runs in the bottom of the third, but Warren County scored twice in the top of the fourth inning to retake the lead, 5-3.
The game would go scoreless for the next couple of innings, and in the bottom of the seventh, the Red Raiders broke through.
Trevor Jesse would score on a Nate Rutledge fly ball, Cole Pippenger would tie the score up at 5-5 on a Colter Neel walk and Blake Hillis sealed the deal with a walk-off single that sent Bird Fellers home for the game-winning run, giving Coffee County a 6-5 win.
Blake Hillis finished the game with two RBIs and one hit, Colter Neel and Trevor Jesse each had an RBI on one hit and Bird Fellers and Trey Turner both registered a hit for the Red Raiders.
Brady Daugherty started the game on the mound for Coffee County, pitching in over three innings, allowing five runs on four hits, striking out four batters and walking two on 66 pitches, but it would be Fellers who got credit for the win, pitching in over three innings, allowing no runs on one hit, striking out five batters and walking three on 46 pitches.
The Red Raiders have won three games in a row and will look to continue that streak as they take on Portland at East Robertson High School at 12:30 pm on Friday, Mar. 29.
