CHS wrestling routs Marion

Coffee County wrestling was back in action Thursday evening, traveling to Marion County for another round of duals action.
The Red Raiders returned home with a dominant 71-12 win, with the Lady Raiders also coming out on top 12-0.
Boys’ winners for Coffee County included a forfeit win for Dyson Leverette in the 120-pound weight class. Marcus Uselton followed this up with a win by fall over Edward Ramsey in the 126-pound weight division at the 3:05 mark. Jesse Lester added a win over Donald Swafford in the 132-pound class, with the fall coming at the 1:49 mark. Competing in the 138-pound division, Toccoa Gaines took down George Gibson by forcing a fall with 1:02 on the clock.
Carlos Valle-Martinez continued the Red Raiders’ streak in the 144-pound weight class, coming out on top over Cooper Moreland via a fall at the 1:30 mark. William Barlow added another forfeit win for Coffee County in the 157-pound weight division. Eli McLean went on to defeat Gunner McCallen in the 165 class with a fall at the 3:20 mark. In the 175-pound bout, Eli Gipson took down Michael Hendon with a fall at the 1:25 mark.
Competing in the 190-pound weight class, Kameron Stafford-Turner came out on top over Jeremy Rollins, forcing the fall with 1:08 left on the board. Joshua Mainville went on to add a victory over Clayton Haggard in the 215-pound weight division, with the fall coming at the 1:48 mark. Tanner Vernon defeated Jaldin Allen in the 285-pound class, winning by fall with 26 seconds left on the clock. Giddean Mascari also picked up a win in the 113-pound division, winning 17-1 by technical fall over Nathan Green.
On the girls’ side, the Lady Raiders’ Aime Miller took down Molly Alder in the 138-pound weight class, winning by fall at the 2:52 mark. Marlee Wimley followed this up in the 165-pound weight division with a win by fall over Aislynn Hamrick with 52 seconds remaining on the clock.
Lady Raiders post strong showing at Garner-Dyer Invitational
The Coffee County girls’ team returned to the mat Saturday to take part in the Tullahoma Garner-Dyer girls’ invitational.
First-place finishes for the Lady Raiders included Jasmine Norris in the 126-pound weight division, who wrapped up her day with a 16-2 major decision victory over Independence’s Adelina Feinberg. Gabrielle Silva followed this up with a win by fall over Shelbyville’s Lexi Neese in the 132-pound weight class at the 1:15 mark.
Competing in the 145-pound class, Jianna Bare took the top spot over Independence’s Alice Gizzi via a 19-4 technical fall win. Ellysia Jennings won the 165-pound division over Coffee County teammate Raianna Gault, winning by fall at the 3:14 mark.
