Photos of suspects wanted in Tom Lee Park shooting released

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police have released photos of people wanted in a shooting Tuesday afternoon that injured a teenage girl at Tom Lee Park in downtown Memphis.

The photos show five suspects walking through the park.

The Memphis Police Department (MPD) said they were armed with guns and were seen running away after the shooting. At least two of them had backpacks on.

Police said Wednesday that the girl who was shot remained in critical condition at a hospital. Earlier in the day, MPD had reported she was expected to survive.

FOX13 has reached out to get clarity on the girl’s condition.

MPD had previously reported that gunfire erupted just before 3:30 p.m. Tuesday. The shooting caused chaos at the downtown city park, as witnesses told FOX13 that it happened during what was known as a “Senior Skip Day” gathering.
