Man says he’s a Mason and deputy will be sorry

Getting arrested for allegedly assaulting his mother April 12 made a man so mad he reportedly threatened to put a “hit” on the deputy who arrested him.

Monroe County Sheriff’s Deputy Oliver Mey said he went to Paris Road near Sweetwater around 7:30 p.m. on a domestic assault call and met a woman at the North Monroe Fire Department.

The woman said her son, Micah McNabb, had thrown a screwdriver and a rock at her, though he’d missed with both items. She said the argument started over McNabb cutting copper wiring out of her trailer. She said the copper was not in use, but it wasn’t his to take.

She said she owns three trailers on the property and her son lives in one of them with her. Mey said there was copper wiring in the woman’s car and she said McNabb had placed it there after cutting it.

She said McNabb hadn’t put his hands on her, but she was afraid for her safety and was leaving to spend the night with a relative.

Mey said he went to the trailer the two shared, but McNabb wasn’t there. But he returned around 1:45 a.m. and found McNabb in a camper on the property.

Mey said he placed McNabb under arrest, at which time he began screaming at neighbors and trying to pull away from Mey.

Mey said he attempted to search McNabb but McNabb spread his legs out and fell to the ground, hitting his face on the ground. Mey asked him if he was hurt, but McNabb didn’t answer and just continued to scream at the neighbors.

Mey said he had to roll McNabb over several times to finish searching him. Afterwards, McNabb allegedly told Mey he was a Free Mason and he was going to put a hit out on him, told him he was dead and said his “daddy would (expletive) him up.”

Mey said on the drive to the jail, McNabb continued to say his father would kill him, that he would put a hit on the whole force and put a hit out on Mey’s family.

McNabb, 40, Parris Road, Sweetwater, was charged with domestic assault, resisting arrest and retaliation for a past action.
