On Thursday night, the Coffee Middle Lady Raiders overcame a first inning deficit to win 10-6 at Warren County, the Red Raiders swept the Pioneers in a doubleheader, and the Westwood Rockets lost in a 7-6 nail-biter to Liberty.

CCMS Lady Raiders: 10, Warren County Lady Pioneers: 6

The Coffee Middle Lady Raiders faced a 4-1 deficit after the first inning of play, but afterwards, they quickly went to work, scoring two runs in the top of the second inning courtesy of a Bailey Hale single to make the score 4-3.

Coffee County would erupt for four runs in the fourth inning, as Paige Chilton tied the score at 4-4 with a steal of home plate, Briley Apicella singled and sent two more in for a score and a Genna Sadler double would add another run to the score to give the Lady Raiders a 7-4 lead.

The Lady Raiders would outscore Warren County 3-2 the rest of the way to win the game, 10-6.

Bailey Hale and Genna Sadler each finished the game with two RBIs on two hits and Briley Apicella and Phoenix Jones would each add two RBIs on one hit.

Briley Jernigan would get credit for the win in the circle, after pitching over six innings, allowing two runs on three hits, striking out 10 batters and walking two on 96 pitches.

The Lady Raiders will be back home to face Warren County on Friday, Mar. 22 at 5:00 pm.

CCMS Red Raiders: 13, Warren County Pioneers: 1

The Red Raiders controlled the first game of the doubleheader right from the start, piling up a 6-0 lead on Warren County through the first two and a half innings.

Warren County would get on the scoreboard with a run in the third inning, but the Red Raiders would score three runs in the top of the fourth inning, including a Jaxon Pruitt double that drove in two, and four runs in the fifth inning to win the game in a mercy rule, 13-1.

Jaxon Pruitt had four RBIs on two hits, Tanner Daugherty had an RBI on two hits, Augie Lynch had an RBI on one hit and Kanon Creek along with Mason Floyd each had one RBI.

Lynch put in the most work on the mound, pitching in three innings, allowing one run on five hits, striking out seven batters and walking just one on 63 pitches.

CCMS Red Raiders: 4, Warren County Pioneers: 0

The Red Raiders continued to roll in the second game of their doubleheader, scoring two runs in the first inning with Kanon Creek grounding out to send one home and Landyn Stiefel adding another run a single to make the score 2-0.

Coffee County would add one run in each the third and fourth innings and go on to win, 4-0.

Augie Lynch would finish the game with one RBI on two hits, Landyn Stiefel would have one RBI on one hit and Jaxon Pruitt along with Kanon Creek each had an RBI.

Pruitt would get credit for the win on the mound, pitching over four innings, allowing just one hit, striking out eight batters and walking four on 83 pitches. 

The Red Raiders will be back at home to take on Lewisburg on Monday, Apr. 1 at 4:30 pm.

Westwood Rockets: 6, Liberty Patriots: 7

After a big win against Huntland on Wednesday night, the Westwood Rockets played host to Liberty on Thursday.

The visiting Patriots would be the first ones to score, taking a 2-0 lead in the first inning.

The score would not change until the fourth inning, where the Patriots scored three more runs to build up a 5-0 lead, however the Rockets scored four in the bottom of the fourth to make the score 5-4.

Both teams would trade a pair of runs in the final two innings and the Patriots held on to win, 7-6.

Trey Sullivan, CJ Chavis and Davion Dycus each had an RBI on one hit and Brady Christian also had an RBI for the Rockets.

Chavis would get credit for the loss on the mound, pitching three innings, allowing two runs on five hits and striking out five batters on 54 pitches. 

Dycus would pitch over an inning in relief, allowing five runs on seven hits, striking out two batters and walking another two on 45 pitches and Brady Christian would finish things out, pitching over two innings, allowing no hits, striking out six batters and walking two on 42 pitches.

The Rockets will be back at home on Monday, Mar. 25 to take on Moore County at 5:30 pm.
